Cynthia E. Roat, MPH is a state-certified English<>Spanish healthcare and social service interpreter, an international consultant on language access in health care, and a veteran interpreter trainer based in Seattle. With over 30 years of experience in the field, Cindy has developed curricula for basic interpreter education as well as for many specialty areas, including genetics, palliative care, mental health, obstetrics, and dental care. Her book, Healthcare Interpreting in Small Bites, is used as an ancillary text in many interpreter training programs.
